As luck would have it, our little man got his first hair cut from none other than the great Nikolai.
Sport coat, blazer, jacket, awesome. Whatever you call it, adding one to your outfit usually looks great. It's amazing how this idea carries through whether you are 2 or 82. We've introduced our kids to wearing jackets and I love the way they use them. With a care-free attitude, a spill here, or a pocket full of sand there, they show that clothes are better when they're lived in. Fit is key, the importance of a good fit adds to the comfort and use of the coats, it's easy to keep reaching for the jacket that makes you feel so good.
Vika is one that I've know for a very long time. Like a strong wind that carries change, possibility, grace and clarity she fills my lungs with warmth and sweetness. She has always propelled me further, in quiet ways and in monumental ways such as introducing me to Erik. Because today is her birthday, I delight in her all the more. Pictures below are from a celebratory trip to Napa.
The challenge was to make a motorcycle jacket that fit.
Hanman was looking for a jacket that would cover his torso, but everything he tried never shaped into his waist and sat long enough through the sleeves and body. We started at SH Frank in the Mission and searched the warehouse until we found the one. A chocolate brown cowhide at 4.5 mm thick showing all the scars, textures, and details of it's past life. We worked through a few fittings to adjust the balance, suppression and proportion until we were satisfied then moved on to finish it with a scarlet lining and removable quilted vest.
I enjoy witnessing how these pieces tend to evolve through being worn in, worked in, and lived in.
Upon meeting this little guy, I was instantly smitten.
Two beautiful and wonderful people whom I have the great fortune to love, created this remarkably cute one.
